Challenge:

Identify new markets to grow the business. The offshore wind and aquaculture markets were chosen based on time to market and opportunities.

Solution:

Future proven underwater camera technology for aquaculture. IP based system with the highest image quality available, with software for simultaneous lice counting and fish feed pellet detection.

GCE Subsea:

Imenco has taken part in the Subsea Next Step programme in 2014 and ACCEL Crossover programme in 2017. They have received pre-project funding for solutions for automatic salmon lice detection. Experiences and results have been shared with the cluster through GCE Subsea events.

Results:
  • Successfully adapted products from the oil and gas industry for use in other ocean industries
  • Major contracts won within offshore wind
  • Collaborated with aquaculture clients on the development of camera systems
  • Initial orders from aquaculture clients
