UTC2011: Subsea Chief Engineers Challenges

For the first time, chief engineers will meet to share and discuss their technological challenges.

The program for this year’s Underwater Technology Conference, in Bergen, is ready. The theme “Subsea future – leveraging innovation and industrialization” puts the focus on the investments made to implement the industries innovative and intelligent solutions in an industrialized context.

The subsea industry is no longer only a platform for innovation. The future will also be dependent on how the good ideas and solutions can be executed mutually throughout the industry.

A series of international speakers will give their opinions on the future of the subsea industry. UTC will also present, for the first time, a session with chief engineers from BP, Chevron, Exxon Mobile, Shell, Statoil and Total. The group will share and discuss their technological challenges for the purpose of inspiring innovation.

The first Underwater Technology Conference was arranged by the Underwater Technology Foundation in 1980. It was an immediate success and this years conference is the 17th to be held so far The subsea conference in Bergen is well known for presenting speakers with a great deal of experience to talk about important and present-day topics within the subsea industry.

UTC has over the years become one of the most important international meeting places for the subsea sector. Over 600 participants and 50 exhibitions are expected at UTC in Bergen 8.-9. June 2011. The participants are leaders, engineers and others who work within strategy and planning with regard to subsea.

In association with the conference, this year NCE Subsea will be arranging Subsea Investors Forum together with UTF, SUT, Connect Vest, Sparebanken Vest and Norne Securities.

UTC also organizes, in cooperation with NCE Subsea, Society for Underwater Technology and Society of Petroleum Engineers Bergen.
