The board of SUT Norway has decided to cancel the October 2017 Subsea Awareness Course.

It is no longer possible to sign up for the Subsea Awareness Course.

The Subsea Awareness Course has been designed to be suitable for contractors, engineers, operators and those new to the offshore industry. Employees transferring from other disciplines within the industry and those who have worked in subsea previously would benefit from the Subsea Awareness Course and also get a new update to the latest subsea technology.

Programme

The course has seen some changes with respect to the originally Aberdeen branch course. Attention has been given to world leading companies, products, services and technologies from the Bergen area. Moreover, this year we aim to work even closer with the University of Bergen and include crossover themes in the programme.

During the course week presentations will be given by representatives from organisations and companies in the subsea industry in the Bergen Region. The course also hosts site visits, taking delegates out of the classroom and into the real-life subsea industry, and you are also invited to a networking dinner with the other delegates.

The programme covers most subsea topics like:

  • General Introduction to the subsea sector terminology and history
  • Subsea field development and operation
  • Marine operations X-mas trees/manifolds and tools
  • Subsea control cystems
  • Sensors and monitoring
  • Overview of principles of fluid flow
  • Subsea compression systems
  • General introduction to pipeline technology
  • Subsea pipeline external inspection.
  • Subsea instrumentation and monitoring
  • Crossover of subsea technology to other industries; fishfarming, vindfarms and renewable energy

Presentations will be given by Statoil, OneSubsea, TechnipFMC and GCE Subsea.
