NCE Seafood Innovation, Maritimt Forum Bergensregion, NCE Maritime CleanTech, the University of Bergen and GCE Subsea invited all of our partners and members to a common gathering in the wake of the national Havkonferansen this week.
We extended an eventful day for the ocean clusters in Bergen with social networking, and moreover we created a networking opportunity for the ocean industry.
The participants were a mix of business representatives from the ocean clusters, government representatives, ministers and others.
Meeting Across Clusters
Over 30 per cent of the participants came from the GCE Subsea cluster and many expressed great enthusiasm about this type of networking. According to the participants feedback it was useful and a good arena for networking which was the main goal of the event.
Haakon Vatle and cadets from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy opened the event by performing an engaging Shanti that won the crowd over, thereafter Toastmaster Arne Hjeltnes presented Industry Minister Monica Mæland who gave a short summary of Havkonferansen.
Hjeltnes continued by interviewing the leaders of the ocean clusters, and Dag Rune Olsen from the University of Bergen spoke about the value of more collaboration across disciplines and less “silo-thinking”. A delicious fish soup was on the menu accompanied by music from Myrna Braza Band.
